Who am I?

Monika Turczyn was born in Poland (1986) where she also grew up. In 2008 she graduated as a Media Designer at SintLucas in Boxtel. In her last year at SintLucas Monika Turczyn set up her own brand Simple, together with seven other colleagues. She created the IZI bag-in-bag. Simple won in 2008 the award for the best student company of the Netherlands.

In 2008 she moved to England, where she graduated as a Graphic Designer at Lincoln School of Art and Design in 2009. The same year she began the postgraduate programme in Fashion & Strategy at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem, with as specialisation Futurising. Homing in on Futurising, she can combine her graphical background with her fascination for magazines.

Monika Turczyn signalise and indicates trends and developments. Thought visual research she can explain strategies and developments. With this skills she developed her graduation project: MT magazine.

Besides the Fashion Master study, she worked part-time for two renowned fashion stores in Maastricht: for Stijl Maastricht where she did the sales/buying and social media and PL-Line where she was responsible for PR and communications. Monika Turczyn distinguished herself because of her strong design skill in combination with concept development skills and a clear view on tomorrow’s trends and developments.
